Hotel Avio

The location was very nice and the beds were reasonably comfortable, but the service was poor. The food was okay and undercooked, and the meat was hard to identify. Even very simple dishes were messed up. There were pubic hairs in the shower when we arrived, our towels weren’t changed during a week-long stay, and room service broke some of our things and hid others. The water came out brown at first, too. Drinks were extortionate, €4 for a basic 33cl fizzy drink.

I stayed here for a week on a school trip. The staff seemed kind and friendly, but nobody spoke English, which made communicating almost impossible. The rooms looked really old, and the water came out brown when first turned on. The food was a bit strange, and on the third day more than 40 people, teachers included, got really sick and threw up. After that, our money and expensive belongings, including makeup and perfume, went missing. Someone stole more than 300 euros from my friend. As far as I know, students from another school also lost money. When we came back from skiing, the locks on our suitcases had different codes from the ones we’d left them with, as if someone had tried to open them. The police got involved, but nothing was returned.

A good all-round hotel with very good prices, and the staff are really friendly.

The mountain view from my room was a lucky bonus, and the location is quite nice. I was here on a ski trip. The food was okay, not great, and the staff were a mixed bag, though mostly lovely and willing to help when needed. One downside, I woke up with a rash across my chest from the bed. There was a vegetarian girl on the trip. For two days running, after staff learned she didn’t eat meat, they gave her a lump of mozzarella straight from the bag with chips instead of pork. Nobody on staff knew English. That’s not their fault, but it’s useful to know if you don’t speak Italian. While we were skiing, room service came in and rearranged everything from clothes to electronics. The lounge and bar were nice, and so was the dining hall. There’s plenty to do outside, including skiing or just walking around town. It’s not the best hotel or the worst, and it’ll do if you need to stop for a bite.
