Hotel Overland

Toirano itself is lovely, especially the medieval village with its distinctive character, and the hotel is charming, with tastefully furnished rooms. But it's an odd setup: there's no breakfast, bar, or restaurant, and the hotel seems closed most of the time. My room's air conditioner was too small to cool even a 16-square-meter space. I can't really decide whether I'd recommend staying here. It's not terrible, though there are clearly better choices.

The manager was very kind and did her best to meet our needs. We found the price fair, and overall the stay was fine. The room was a bit cold and the cleaning wasn't very good. The location is excellent, both for the hotel itself and for visiting the lovely village of Toirano.

The welcome was warm, and the bathtub in the room was a lovely, relaxing touch. The room looked a little shabby and could use more care to make the price feel justified. At that rate, an extra sachet of shower gel would have been nice too. Some extra attention to the rooms, and to the guests, would go a long way.

The room was very spacious, almost like an apartment, though there was no kitchen or fridge. The air conditioning worked well, and free-use bicycles were available. The hotel sits inside the old city walls, among narrow streets that feel full of history. Most of the area isn't reachable by car, but you can drive up to the hotel to load and unload, then park in the lot. It's a place where you can really unwind.
