Il Sereno Hotel

We stayed four nights, and I wish I could say I enjoyed it as much as many other guests seem to. Apart from the bedroom, the rest of the room had no windows and felt stark, bare, and not especially pleasant. The rest of the hotel was nice, just not on the level of somewhere like Reschio in Umbria. It was okay, but I wouldn't rush back.

The balcony was a fun place to order drinks and a cigar, with the bartender upstairs. Dinner at Il Sereno was wonderful too. Roberto and Chiara explained each dish so well, and we had a lot of fun with them. Fantastic experience. I'd love to stay here someday!

Every part of my stay at Il Sereno felt carefully thought through. The staff were warm and discreet, anticipating what I might need without intruding, and the atmosphere made it easy to slow down. The view of Lake Como from my suite was impressive. Il Sereno made me feel a kind of peace I hadn't realized I needed, and I can't wait to return.

The housekeeping let down an otherwise lovely stay. On two days in a row, there were visible stains on the bed linens, including what looked like a bloodstain once. That was upsetting and unsettling, and it affected our experience. At a hotel of this caliber, paying a premium, this shouldn't happen. I hope the feedback helps them improve, because the property has so much potential for a flawless stay. The property itself is stunning, the views are breathtaking, and the service was generally very good. The lower rating isn't because it's unclean or unattractive. It's because a place at this price and standard naturally sets high expectations.
