Albergo Maccotta

Just a short walk from the city center, and the room was spotless. It had air conditioning, a TV, and bathroom supplies. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The central Trapani location and the price were exactly what I was looking for, and both delivered. What disappointed me was breakfast: I’d booked a room with it, then at check-in in December they told me it wasn’t offered at that time of year. Nobody had mentioned this when I reserved, and I specifically wanted a hotel with breakfast. That didn’t feel professional. The room had been renovated and the bed was comfortable, but nearby bars played loud music late into the night. They did let me leave my luggage there after checkout.

Everything was very clean, and the location is hard to beat: central, about five minutes on foot from the beach, and near the port with plenty of restaurants around. The staff were all okay. I’d recommend the hotel. To me it deserves three stars, rather than just one.

At Macotta, right in Trapani’s old center, the beds were nice and the bathroom was acceptable, so the room just about passed. The TV wasn’t set up properly, though, and when I selected Super! it told me to rescan the channels. I couldn’t try breakfast because the hours didn’t work for me. The bigger problem was the Wi-Fi, which didn’t work. Had I known, I wouldn’t have stayed. Staff were okay.
