Pousada Noir

The room was above a bar, so noise from breakfast preparations and other activity stopped around 2:00 AM and began again at 7:00 AM. It was cleaned for the first time after five days, and breakfast wasn't included. We paid €860 for 10 nights, which felt like far too much for a place perhaps worth half that. Definitely not somewhere I'd recommend for a relaxing vacation. One star feels like more than enough to us. We booked through Booking.com, and the property didn't look like the deceptive photos or match the reviews. Maybe my husband and I were the only ones placed in this room, which I can't speak for beyond our experience. The faucet filters were clogged, making it impossible to wash our faces, and the shower hose leaked everywhere. The mattress was tiny and uncomfortable, and the furnishings were dated.

The apartment was dark and not very quiet, and the kitchen was embarrassing. We were lucky we didn't need to cook, since the cutlery and cabinets were dirty and clearly hadn't been used. And the building entrance led straight through the bar!

The bathroom needs attention: the shower faucet should be fixed and the drain cleared. Staff were friendly and helpful, though. Also, there's no need to spend your morning looking for breakfast elsewhere. The bar in the same building has sweet and savory sandwiches, coffee, and juices.

I got a room for one night at a very low rate because of a Booking error. It was a bit noisy, but the food was good.
