Dai Gresy - In Langa

The rolling hills, delicious food, thoughtful staff, and excellent wine have me already planning another visit, hopefully a longer one. Dai Gresy was a peaceful, idyllic base for four days in the Langhe. Every design detail, even the little things, helped create a relaxing atmosphere.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived, thanks to the warm staff. Dai Gresy, near Alba, makes luxury feel effortless, with a beautiful design and thoughtful details throughout. The food was excellent, with every meal showcasing quality regional ingredients, and the wine selection at the Marchesi Di Grésy estate included aged bottles of their entry-level wines. Vineyard views and a lovely outdoor pool add to the stay, though the pool is unheated and better suited to warmer months. The spa area is well equipped, but sits on the ground floor without windows. A view would have made it nicer on a rainy day, though that’s a small point in an otherwise flawless stay. A gem if you want comfort, elegance, and a home-like feel in a luxurious setting. We’ll definitely return.

Thoughtful, distinctive details give this small hotel a feel far removed from the old-fashioned style of big chains. It’s right among the vineyards in the wine region and belongs to the Marchesi di Gresy winery. The hosts are open-hearted, and we felt at home straight away. There are stunning views, an outdoor pool, and a small spa area.

We picked Dai Gresy to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The surroundings are beautiful, the service is superb, and the food and wine were delicious. There’s real attention to detail throughout, and the team, Jackie, Giulia, Ombretta, the chef, and the kitchen staff, gave us a quiet luxury experience. A must-stay in the Piedmont region, highly recommended.
