We found it a nice, cozy place to stay, and the hosts were friendly and always available. They run the shop beneath the apartment. Keep in mind that it can get noisy at night, with Via Liberta and Via Umberto busy into the early morning. Still, it's a fine location. Have fun!

Tropea is such a lively place, and we were delighted with it. The person who welcomed us and let us into the apartment was incredibly helpful, and we're very grateful for her care. The location is excellent, near the center and the stairs down to the beach, with a direct view of the castle. The apartment was just okay for cleanliness, smelled a little musty, and didn't quite match what we expected from the photos. We sprayed some air freshener and sorted out the smell, haha. At least the bed was comfortable.

The location is the apartment's strongest point: it's right by the steps down to the beach, near the center, with a beautiful sea view. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds comfortable enough, and the owners were helpful after a frustrating wait at check-in. We arrived at the agreed 3:00 PM time but waited at least 15 minutes for the owner to open the door, as there's no reception. The stairs up to the apartment are steep, though that wasn't an issue for us. Our two-level booking had the bedroom downstairs and kitchen upstairs, plus a beautiful panoramic terrace and a spiral staircase up to another rooftop terrace. Unfortunately, housekeeping was poor. My wife started cleaning the bathroom and bedroom right after we arrived. The bedroom floors weren't great, and the kitchen floor and gray concrete stairs between floors felt dirty. We also found ants in the kitchen despite being on the top floors, and didn't feel comfortable using it at night, even with the windows shut. Closed windows didn't block the outside noise either. The area was busy all the time, although nearby bars stopped their music between midnight and 1:00 AM. When I tried the air conditioning on arrival, the split unit smelled bad, so we didn't use it. Luckily, the weather was fantastic and we didn't need it. The apartment has potential and wouldn't take much to make it nicer and more comfortable, but for what we paid, the value was poor. You could say we paid for the location, but that wasn't enough.
