Il Piratello

We had mixed feelings after our two weeks here. The place itself is bright and beautiful, right in the center but in a peaceful area. It was spotless when we arrived, though during the stay we only saw someone once, to bring fresh towels and sheets. The garden around the accommodation could use some attention, and the other location you have to visit if there's a problem seemed better cared for. Check-in was disappointing too: someone was meant to be there until 6:00 PM, but they showed up at 5:30 PM, with the key left in the door.

The apartment is roomy and has a rustic feel, and the pool at this lovely agriturismo is great. It could have been cleaner, though, and the old building means you sometimes hear the upstairs neighbors quite clearly. It's peaceful here, but dogs nearby can get pretty noisy in the evenings. On bad-weather days, the inside feels dark.

A peaceful spot, and a really beautiful place to stay. Our apartment was practical, with fairly large air-conditioned bedrooms and mosquito nets throughout. The pool was lovely, and the kitchen had enough equipment for simple meals. Staff were attentive when we needed practical help, with useful tips on food shopping and places to visit.

My mother-in-law, my husband and I stayed for two nights starting September 7th, and this was the most memorable stop on my Italy trip. The olive grove gave the place such a peaceful, idyllic feel, and the host and staff were all kind. They showed us some lovely nearby sights, and doing an olive oil tasting with them was fascinating. The room was cleaner and more comfortable than I expected. Breakfast was excellent, and both the shower water and pool water were clean.
