Appartamento Via Po

Via Po runs for 704 metres and is 30 metres wide, laid out at an angle to connect the city centre with the bridge over the Po. One unusual feature is that only the left side has the covered terraces over the pedestrian passages, so the porticoes continue without a break to piazza Vittorio Veneto on that side. This is one of the main streets in the historic centre, linking piazza Castello with piazza Vittorio Veneto. The porticoes along Via Po join those of piazza Castello, via Roma and via Pietro Micca to make the city's longest continuous portico system. Beneath them are historic venues, bars, cafés, shops, bookshops and a few used-book stalls. The historic University of Turin, founded in 1404, is also here.
