After the long overnight trip from Washington, DC, we had a delightful lunch here, which was a welcome bonus. My wife and I were in Udine for two nights and stayed upstairs from this lovely Osteria, in the Turquoise room (5), one of six charming rooms you can book through their website. It's incredibly spacious, with a comfortable queen-sized bed, air conditioning, a hot shower, WiFi and a refrigerator. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Grazie!

We got comfortable at the counter in this very distinctive bar, and the wine was tasty and reasonably priced. The odd part was that we played cards in front of the bar for nearly 30 minutes before being told it wasn't allowed, apparently because of Italian laws 😂

A relaxed Osteria with regional local dishes, a good wine list and friendly, dedicated staff. They spoke enough English to help me as a non-Italian speaker. Don't miss the frico and cured meats, and have a look through the natural wine list too.

The food was simple but really tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant, especially for an aperitivo. Dinner can get a bit crowded, so I'd book ahead. The tables are very small, and the plates barely fit.

Everything came out pretty quickly, and the waiter was absolutely lovely. The pasta was delicious, but the hot sandwiches were the real hit. We ordered them twice because they were so good. Such an amazing place, highly recommend it!
