We booked three nights but left after just one, and got no refund. The hotel is in central Urbino, where 25,000 students live, and they can be noisy at night. On a Tuesday, drunk students were shouting under our first-floor window until 5 a.m. The window had single glazing, and we were awake the whole time. Then the municipal cleaning service came at 7 a.m. The host told us, “Unfortunately, when renting an apartment in the historic center of a university city, this is something that can happen.”

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. With historic furniture and paintings throughout, the property is right in the heart of Urbino, making it easy to explore the city on your own. Parking is available in the Mercatale area, 400 meters away.

During our five-day stay, the street outside was busy even at night, and the rooms didn’t block much sound. We lost a night’s sleep to shouting, then the street cleaning vehicles arrived at 6 a.m. each day. The apartment is on the first floor in Urbino’s historic center, which is in a restricted traffic zone (ZTL). You’ll need to leave your car in a paid lot 500 meters away. With a small child like ours, getting around on foot meant dealing with Urbino’s many steep climbs and descents. This confirms the negative review I posted before.
