Locanda Acquavita

The photos on Booking were misleading. Room 2 felt like a basement and looked nothing like what was shown. It did have some facilities, but it was still a basement. The bathroom was extremely tiny and uncomfortable. There was no reception on site, it was over a 10-minute walk away. They said smoking wasn’t allowed, but people smoked in the small lobby, and the smell got into my room.

We stayed three nights in room 2. Fundamente Nove is close by, so getting to the boats was easy, and the AC was a lifesaver in the heat. There was a coffee machine by the bed, a tiny fridge, and a sink in the room. The shower and toilet were also in the room, which was great. It wasn’t dirty, apart from the curtains around the doors and window. The room was dark and felt like a basement, not like the photos. It smelled a bit odd, probably from the drain, but airing it out helped and it wasn’t too bad. There was no kettle. For cheaper accommodation it’s not a bad option. There was also a bell in the shower for calling reception, for some reason.

Room 5 was clean, comfortable, and had a very Venetian feel. The area was so quiet, which was welcome after the city crowds. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

The only inconvenience was the late check-in time. Aside from that, my stay at Locanda Acquavita was comfortable and pleasant, and everything else was top-notch. The receptionist was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the location and welcoming atmosphere were great. A very good affordable option, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone on a budget.
