Ca' Lavezzera

For Venice, we thought the price was very reasonable. The little hotel is in a good location, and the host was kind. He isn’t there all the time, but when we left a note asking for another blanket in the morning, we got one without any trouble. The room was clean and a decent size, and the bed was really comfortable. They’d also left snacks, water, and coffee and tea.

It was nice being a little away from Venice’s hubbub, since the room was super quiet. Ours had a canal view, though the window was so small you couldn’t really see much of it from inside. The room itself was small but clean, and the hosts left plenty of snacks, water, and orange juice. They were very nice and quick to reply. Since they don’t live there, you need to give them an idea of when you’ll arrive so they can meet you.

We were newlyweds staying for two nights, three days, and got only one set of towels. The room was cleaned every day, but the towels were never replaced. Reception said they couldn’t bring new ones because nobody was around, so my wife and I used the same towels throughout. The sink plug was stuck, leaving the basin full of water, and there was no air conditioning as promised in the listing. Don’t stay here.

We were away from the noise of the city center, which suited us perfectly. This little hotel has just a handful of rooms, and ours was charming, spacious, clean, and as described on the website. The manager and his assistant were incredibly kind and helpful. They even got roses for my husband and put them in our room as a birthday surprise. I can’t say enough good things about this gem, and I’d absolutely stay again.
