A major airline strike in Paris, which was entirely outside our control, kept us from reaching Venice on the date we had booked. We contacted the hotel and asked whether we could move the stay or cancel, but they refused and said missing the original check-in would be treated as a no-show. They offered no other option. I expected some understanding or flexibility in a situation like that, but got neither. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated with basic consideration.

I booked this hotel after reading good reviews and expected them to be reliable and provide basic customer service. Instead, they canceled my confirmed reservation at the last minute without any explanation. Nobody called, suggested another place, or helped me rebook. That was unacceptable and unprofessional, especially when travel plans are at stake. If you need a hotel that respects your time and plans, book somewhere else.

We arrived at night after booking more than two weeks earlier, and were told there was no room for us. We had to find another hotel ourselves that night. Very unprofessional. Don't book here.

The staff were polite, to be fair, but the rooms were genuinely horrible and nothing like the pictures. Black mold covered the bathroom, which felt disgusting, and we felt dirtier after showering. It's well out of town, too, and a long haul with suitcases. We couldn't wait to leave and would rather sit at the airport early than stay another minute. The air conditioning barely worked and was loud, while the toilet kept flushing constantly. I raised the mold with a staff member, who was nice and polite about it and offered to wipe it with a wet wipe. That wasn't an adequate fix. I asked for a partial refund, which apparently needed the manager's approval, but never heard back.

Everything basically works, the location is good, and it's on the quiet side of the city. The sunset happens just behind the hotel, with an awesome view. That's about why I'd recommend it. I found the service disappointing, and the hotel felt a bit overpriced for what it offers, though maybe Venice explains the price. I know the facade can't be changed because of the law, but the rooms weren't especially clean either. The bathrooms were dirty, the tiles had huge stains, the bathroom shelves were broken, and the plug sockets came loose easily. Even when we asked, they didn't change the towels. The receptionist told me himself to eat outside, and said the accommodation and breakfast prices were simply down to the costs in Venice.
