Aquarius Hotel

We liked the 14:00 check-in and 12:00 checkout times, and the location was manageable on foot. Still, I wouldn't recommend it as much for families with kids or people carrying lots of luggage. Most places took about a 15-20 minute walk. We stayed three nights, and the room was a decent size for two, with towels, shower gel, and soap provided. I was surprised the minibar was complimentary. Breakfast ran from 7:30-10:30. It was okay, nothing fancy, but there was something to start the day with.

The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful, and the price felt like great value. Our room at Hotel Aquarius Venice (Ascend Hotel Collection) was clean and spacious. The hotel sits by a lovely, quiet plaza with some delicious restaurants close by, and the area stayed peaceful at night so we slept well. Breakfast was excellent, a relaxing way to start the day.

There's plenty to eat and drink nearby, with cafés, bars, restaurants, and a little supermarket across the lovely square. The San Stae vaporetto station is close too. The neighbourhood feels a bit authentic, and the hotel itself has nice art throughout. It's clean, well kept, newly furnished, and the beds are comfortable. The staff are super nice. It's a true gem, just off the main tourist paths but still central for a Venice stay. Absolutely worth the price and highly recommended. I'll definitely come back for longer.

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood with a Coop mini supermarket opposite and plenty of places to eat nearby. We liked our stay, and the guest WC on the ground floor was handy when going back to the room just to use the toilet felt like a hassle. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was bigger than in many hotels we've stayed in. The very long heated towel rail dried the towels well and warmed the whole bathroom in winter, a small but thoughtful feature. Our main disappointment was the view. The room faced the courtyard and looked onto other rooms' windows; we'd have preferred a street view. The area isn't too far from the canal, so water taxi pickup and drop-off were convenient, especially with luggage. But the hotel is quite far from the Grand Canal and several major sights. Walking to Tronchetto, the water bus terminal, took about 40-45 minutes, which could be tough in cold weather. Even taking the water bus there meant a roughly 15-minute walk first to the Grand Canal station. There's no land transport directly from the hotel, so if your plans focus on the Grand Canal area, expect a lot of walking and bridges. Breakfast was good overall. We wished made-to-order options like fried eggs or omelettes were included, as they're chargeable here unlike at some other hotels.
