Ariel Silva Hotel - Venice Apartments Cannaregio II

We were put in a building on Calle dei Zotti, 10 minutes' walk from the main building. The room was a decent size, but the mattress was the worst I've ever tried; I could feel every spring. The bathroom was shared, despite the listing saying otherwise, though that was Agoda's fault. Cleanliness was just average, with crushed bugs on the curtains and cobwebs in the sockets.

The area was calm and had fewer tourists than other parts of Venice, which I loved. It was about a 10-minute walk from the train station and 20 minutes from the main centre. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and staff were sympathetic and greeted us whenever we passed. Our room was clean whenever we returned. It was very nice for the price, with working AC and extra pillows and blankets in the closet. The bathroom was clean and nice, with a bidet. We left our luggage at the hotel on the last day, which was fine, though it was kept in the corridor instead of a separate room, which felt a bit less secure. The low price was the best we could find, despite the bad reviews that initially put us off. Pay close attention to what you book: several people seem to have booked a room with a SHARED bathroom in a separate building by mistake. I'd recommend this place for budget visitors or anyone who prefers a quieter area.

WORST HOTEL EVER! We booked a single room with its own bathroom and breakfast, and got none of those. They blamed Booking.com and offered either a shared room or the original booking for 140€ more. The room was super small, and all the street noise came straight in.

The hotel itself is nice and small, with a cute feel. But the room cleaners were so loud early in the morning, laughing and banging things around, that we were awake by 8-9. Such a shame when checkout isn't until 11 😅
