Art Apartments Venice

We felt cheated after booking the apartment called "San Polo" through Art apartments' official website on 28th August 2019, because it promised "romantic canal views." When we checked in on 26th September 2019, we were sent to an apartment in San Silvestro instead. The receptionist said San Silvestro was in the same area as San Polo and assured us the directions were right. We reached the apartment around 5pm and found there was no canal view. By then it was too late for the receptionist to do anything when we called. It turned out the booking had been changed without telling us or giving a reason, and at checkout the receptionist had no idea why. The only saving grace was that she refunded the cleaning fee, since the floors were dirty and dusty. The photo shows concrete floors where the "romantic canal views" were supposed to be.

We spent one night here, and Michael gave us a different apartment when we collected the keys. It was on the first floor so my grandma wouldn’t need to climb stairs, and it had a pretty canal view. The location was good, though finding transport with a lot of luggage was difficult, but we managed. The front door latch stuck, so opening it was a bit tricky at first. Once you figure it out, getting in is easier. The main downside was that there wasn’t free WiFi in the apartment. There was limited free VeniceConnect WiFi in the square about a block away if you ask for the login. A great place to stay in Venice.

We had a really nice stay in this apartment, and the garden view from the windows was lovely. The walls could use some repairs. There’s a nearby gelato café with treats at reasonable prices.

We spent four days in a very peaceful ground-floor apartment near basilica dei frari. It was a really pleasant trip, and we got friendly advice on which parts of Venice were nicest to visit.
