The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice

Breakfast is served beneath crystal chandeliers, and Club del Doge prepares its dishes with fresh produce from Rialto Market. The Gritti Palace also sits within an easy walk of La Fenice, about five minutes away, and St. Mark’s Square, roughly 500 meters away. The Santa Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop is nearby too. The setting is a restored historic palace beside the Grand Canal, with views toward Santa Maria della Salute. Rooms have their own elegant decor, antiques and Murano glass, while also including modern comforts such as air conditioning, satellite TVs, private bathrooms, bathrobes and slippers. Some look out over the canal or city.

We loved the room, especially the comfortable bed and all the thoughtful details. Breakfast by the water and drinks at the bar were highlights, and the whole place has such a striking Venetian atmosphere. The Gritti Palace is right on the Grand Canal, with classic character and a comfortable, refined feel. The welcome was warm and attentive from the start. Geraldine made a special effort to make our stay memorable, and Gianmarco, Antonella, and Alessandro were kind throughout. Even if you’re not staying here, stopping in for a drink is worth it. A truly special stay.

The location and access were both perfect, and our room was spacious and nice. The staff were friendly, gave honest tips at reception, and looked after us so well. Breakfast was one of a kind, with a team that deserves special thanks. If I come back to Venice, I’d definitely stay here again if I can.

I stayed on my own and felt especially looked after. The rooms were immaculate, housekeeping was excellent, and the comfort and small thoughtful touches were all there. I was lucky enough to try two rooms, one of them a suite, and I honestly can’t think what could have been improved. What stayed with me most was how natural the care felt. From the moment I arrived, the team seemed to understand what I needed without making anything feel staged or forced. The concierge, reception, housekeeping, bar, and Club del Doge restaurant all helped create that sense of warmth and ease. The Gritti Palace feels less like being served as a hotel guest and more like being welcomed into a Venetian home with history, soul, and high standards. Many luxury hotels try hard to impress, but here things simply felt effortless. One of the most memorable hospitality experiences I’ve had.
