The steep stairs were difficult to climb, especially with suitcases, and we found the room uncomfortable. The pillows were extremely flat and thin, not enough for two people, and the bed only had a thin sheet, with no proper duvet. The thick curtain didn’t close all the way, so early morning light woke us up. There was no welcome water. The TV was so small, high up, and far away that we could barely watch it. The location was good, close to St. Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge, with a canal view.

The only small drawback was the steep staircase, but even with a large suitcase it was manageable. Think of it as your workout for the day 😂❤️. The room was clean and lovely, with great A/C, which you really need when it’s +30 outside. From the window, we could see the canal and one of Venice’s 400 bridges right in front of us. The location is fantastic, very convenient and close to the famous Rialto bridge, with a Coop supermarket nearby. Wonderful stay! Grazie!

Room 202, the deluxe room, has the best canal views, and the wooden ceiling joists are a lovely feature. It’s a simple, basic room, and the stairs are steep. Breakfast was a croissant. Still, compared with the other places I looked at in this budget, it was miles ahead. The location and views gave our Venice visit real charm. I’d highly recommend it.

The woman at reception was pleasant, but this place ruined our quick Venice trip. It was my first hotel stay in Venice, so I don’t have anything to compare it with, but beware. Our room was up three very long, steep flights, and we had to haul our luggage up ourselves. The bed was hard as a rock, with springs pushing through, so we piled on two blankets from the closet. We chose it for the location and free breakfast. The location was the only good thing, though every time we went out we had to tackle those stairs. Breakfast never appeared, not even coffee, despite being included in our reservation. Another couple said theirs included it too, so it wasn’t just our mistake. After dinner we came back to find the whole floor flooded. Nobody was at the desk and there were no extra towels. We cleaned up as best we could, but water kept leaking all night and made sleeping even harder. We tried to tell someone in the morning, but again no one was there. That evening we eventually found someone at reception and reported it. Hours later, they brought a bucket to catch the water, so we had another night of dripping. We nearly left on the first night, but with only two nights booked, decided to stick it out. Maybe the place was good once, but it spoiled our short visit.
