Ca Arsenale

The apartment had everything we needed and felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. We especially liked how quiet the location was, a nice place to unwind after a day in Venice. We had a wonderful time and would gladly come back.

We visited Venice at Christmas and found the apartment cosy, clean, and very quiet. Arsenal is literally around the corner, and the water taxi is close by too. There's a good restaurant nearby, and everything is within walking distance. Great apartment and great service.

The apartment is otherwise nice, but the problems made it hard to enjoy. The bedroom heating kind of works, though the lounge heater doesn't, and it would be awful in winter. Earlier Booking.com comments suggest this has been an issue for a while. Wi-Fi only works in the bedroom. The owner seems to know, but may not want to spend the €50 needed to fix it. When we raised it, he suggested the environment might be the reason. Previous reviews make that sound like a long-standing problem too. Taking a shower wasn't really practical or safe. The curtain around the bath might do the job, but you'd have to kneel to avoid falling onto the floor. There were no tea towels either, so we had to use paper towel to dry a cup or plate, or leave it to drip. Small thing, but annoying. The arrival instructions were an overload, yet the essential detail, where the apartment was, wasn't clear. We weren't given the code before arrival, which made the whole process stressful. To me, this is three-star accommodation that doesn't quite work.

Michele was a charming host, quick to respond and very helpful with any questions. We just spent three comfortable nights in this charming apartment. It's well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay, in a lovely quiet spot close to the sights.
