Ca' Gottardi

Ca' Gottardi made for a relaxing six-night stay, with a boutique hotel feel and a pleasant Venetian atmosphere. The junior suite was clean, roomy, comfortable, and cosy, a lovely place to unwind after a day out. It faced a quiet side alley, so noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was a nice start to the day in the dining room, where the windows look onto the canal. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and gave me useful advice about the city. The hotel sits on the main walking route from Santa Lucia station to Rialto, making many of the usual sights easy to reach. Fondamente Nove is a short walk away for trips to the northern lagoon islands. Ca' d'Oro vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal is also close enough to be handy if you're coming from the station or don't want to walk to Piazza San Marco. I'd stayed near Piazza San Marco on earlier visits, so this was my first time in this sestiere. Ca' Gottardi was a good choice, and I'll come back.

The staff were especially helpful and accommodating, and the young man on the evening shift gave outstanding service. Our suite was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. We also loved the delicious breakfast and the fantastic location. Thank you!

Lovely staff, nice rooms, and a great spot for staying in Venice. A few room details need fixing: the bathroom door squeaks badly, the hairdryer didn't work, and the shower head needs attention. Aside from those minor things, I'd recommend it.

We began our honeymoon with four nights here and absolutely loved it. Our lovely room looked onto a side canal, breakfast was good, and everyone on staff was really friendly.
