Hotel Casa Linger

The mattress was soft, and the receptionist was a really nice man who let us pay the next day because we didn’t have cash. Those were the only good parts. The bedroom was damp and musty, the downstairs bathroom smelled of mold, and even the soap-cleaned hallways still had that lingering odor. The bathroom curtain was moldy, and the room looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. I’m surprised there was even toilet paper. The WiFi didn’t work during the two days we were there, despite being advertised, so we had to climb the extremely narrow stairs to the top landing to get online. There was no air conditioning, though the fan helped with the heat. Avoid this place if you can.

The bathroom was very cramped, and the vanity was right beside the bed. Getting to the floor also meant climbing several small flights of stairs. The room smelled damp, the rug was dirty, and the walls and the rest of the place need repainting. It’s outdated, and the photos are old. Really, look somewhere else. Don’t go to this hotel.

The bed was comfortable, the WiFi worked well in the room, and we thought it was good value even though our room didn’t have a private bathroom. It’s less than a ten-minute walk to St Mark’s Piazza, with lots of good restaurants close by. A great little hotel, and we’ll definitely book here again on our next trip to Venice.

We were on the top floor, where there was no WiFi in the room, even though high-speed WiFi was listed. The checkout time was rather early, and when we asked to leave our bags until the afternoon, the request was refused because it wasn’t in the service description. The room was terribly dirty, with dead bugs and other things around, and the carpet looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. When we asked for cleaning, all they did was make the bed and hang the dirty towels back on the door. There were no bathroom hangers, and the bidet was out of order. The staff were rude.
