City Apartments - Contarina

We had a confirmation from booking.com, but when we contacted the property they said there was no booking. booking.com confirmed that we did have one, but said they were opening an investigation. We lost a lot of money, and it ruined our visit. Be very, very careful. This has left us with a terrible impression of the people involved and even affected how we see Italian people.

The house itself is okay for a short stay in Venice, but Christina’s behavior at check-in was among the worst I’ve experienced. She was there to hand over the keys and, in front of my two children, aged 12 and 5, she was rude to all of us, made ironic comments, and seemed very impatient. It was clear to me she was in the wrong job. For the same money, I think you can find somewhere better, where tourists are treated with the respect they deserve. I would never stay there again.

The apartment was very nice and well equipped, and the location is excellent, close to San Marco Square.

My flight to Venice was scheduled for the 29th of march, and I had booked this apartment. Bad weather in Istanbul unfortunately meant the flights were cancelled, which was really stressful. The host was incredibly helpful and easy to reach while we dealt with the delay and changed the booking.
