Villa Ines

Villa Ines made for a lovely evening away from the bustle of historic Venezia. We enjoyed the tasting menu in the lush garden, set beneath cooling trees on a hot summer evening, with mellow jazz in the background. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the 12 seasonal dishes were all wonderfully prepared by chef Marika. She's an amazing person as well as a fantastic host. I love her Savour Venice’s cooking classes and experiences, and special events like this extraordinary dinner. Grazie!

The garden breakfast was heavenly, and the team running the Villa made us feel so welcome. Our huge room was cleaned perfectly every day, with a fridge and a fantastic shower. The bed was so big, four people could have slept in it. Just wonderful, 10 out of 10. I almost don't want to say too much or it'll get too popular and I won't be able to book a room again.

We got to enjoy the food we'd made together, with plenty for more than the two of us and a glass of wine alongside it. The setting was lovely, with colorful grounds and a beautiful glass sink that was original to this part of Venice. Hygiene was clearly a priority, and there was a bathroom where we could wash our hands between steps. Our concierge arranged the cooking class on Lido, a smaller island about 12 km long and 1 km wide, five boat stops from The hilton where we stayed. After walking about 500 meters from the dock, we were warmly greeted by the staff and offered coffee. Chef Marika had her kitchen all set up. Her staff were impressively efficient, working around the busy kitchen, and Marika was the best. She taught us her true Italian way of cooking, passed down from her mother, taking us through pasta, sauces, fillings, and plating. Her gorgeous poodles were very cute and friendly too. We had an amazing time at Makinas cooking class. Marikas classes are 5 out of 5.

The owner was really friendly, and I enjoyed staying here. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with carefully chosen interiors and attention to every detail. It's in a calm residential part of central Lido, and the value for money is good compared with other options. The ferry station is only a few minutes away, with Venice about 10-15 minutes from there. I'd definitely recommend it for even a couple of days in Venice, and hope to return.
