The staff were kind and helpful. The receptionist walked me through the city map, and when I reported that my room had no hot water the first night, they fixed it the next day. Breakfast was a decent buffet. The older rooms are well maintained, and the hotel has a luggage elevator. It's a nice choice for a short trip, about a 10-minute walk from Rialto and four minutes from the nearest vaporetto.

It was disgusting. The place smelled, there was mould, and the room was tiny. The shower head and the bar it was attached to fell off, and the soap shelves in the shower were hanging loose. There was no sign of a lift for bringing bags up and no information about anything. The room was so hot I couldn't control the heating. I could keep going, but you get the idea. Terrible, don't stay here. We wanted to spend as little time there as possible, and it cost more than other lovely hotels we'd stayed at around Italy. Again, do not stay here.

I contacted the hotel just 10 minutes after the cancellation deadline. An unexpected death in my family meant I couldn't make the reservation, and I explained what had happened while asking for a refund or credit for another stay. They refused to make an exception or offer any goodwill credit. I'm deeply disappointed by the lack of compassion and flexibility. I understand policies exist, but this was a personal loss, and the hotel's response felt like cold enforcement of the rules. For a hospitality business, that was disheartening. I won't stay here in future, and I hope management reconsiders how it treats guests facing genuine emergencies. Sometimes it's about humanity, not money.

The staff were so helpful, and the room felt like a little palace in the heart of Venice. We loved it and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Its location is accessible by Vaporetto, and this ended up being the highlight of our trip. The room was a dream come true, like being a duke and duchess in our own place.
