The meeting rooms are in a well-located spot, in a perfectly renovated power station, and our room, number 10, was close to the station. Bars, restaurants, and supermarkets are all within a five-minute walk, and the street itself is very quiet. That’s where the positives end. Check-in is handled by messaging. We never met the host or delegates, and never spoke to anyone. There are phone numbers, but no one answers them, only messages. The internet didn’t work properly either. Since everything happens via WhatsApp, from the building and apartment access codes to other communication, write everything down. Otherwise, you could get locked out while trying to find a signal or recover your messages. We saw angry guests unable to get in. It’s unpleasant and far too much hassle. Cleanliness was poor, especially for the price. There were food scraps left on the kitchen panel and grease stains all over the doors. The ventilation grilles had an embarrassingly thick layer of dust, something other guests have apparently reported too, and the curtains had come off their rails. The apartments are vacated at 10:00 AM and handed over at 3:00 PM, so surely there’s time to make the place decent for the next guest, even if only once a week. What if someone is allergic to dust? That was the main issue. The air recirculation was noisy. We asked for it to be turned off, also because the vent dust made us uneasy, and opened the windows instead. Everything came down. When were those cleaned? The microwave is positioned above the fridge, which makes it awkward to use. The apartment rules are only available after booking, and guests aren’t told beforehand about the fines, some of them hefty. The host set a €300.00 fine and kept reminding us about it by message. I wiped the food scraps off the panel with a damp cloth because it was disgusting. Surely I shouldn’t have to clean the kitchen before I can use it. Would they refund me €300.00? I don’t think so. There should also be a note in each apartment explaining waste sorting. Instead, there’s a summary by message, and if you miss it, the host will fine you €300.00. We checked the municipality’s website. That seems excessive for a respectful tourist.
