We arrived at 11pm and were locked out, even though we had confirmed our arrival several times and agreed when the owner asked us to open the door remotely. We couldn’t reach him, and Booking.com couldn’t either. It took over 2 hrs to find an available hotel, while we kept trying to contact the owner without success. That completely ruined the start of what was supposed to be a romantic 40-anniversary trip. I can’t comment on the room itself. The owner only got back to us late the next morning, saying he had personal issues, with no meaningful explanation or offer of compensation. Offering to cancel was pointless, since Booking.com had already cancelled the booking the night before. The location may be great, if you’re willing to spend the night outside the door looking at the canal. The customer service was HORRIBLE and totally unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Getting to the room takes four different keys, and the toilet is across the hallway, which is inconvenient. Antonio, the manager, kept contacting me about the door locks, and it felt intrusive. The room was slanted and uneven, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell.

Exploring Venice was easy, with the streets, shops, and landmarks all within walking distance. The location by the canals was beautiful, and our room was spotless, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. From the moment we arrived, the warm smiles and service made us feel at home. The owner’s connection with guests stood out: he arranged a water taxi from the airport through the picturesque canals, and his local connections led us to memorable Venetian food and sightseeing. The restaurant menu had a lovely range of local dishes, and every meal looked and tasted wonderful. I especially enjoyed the fresh seafood and homemade pasta. Our stay at Dimora Al Doge Beato Vista Canale was an unforgettable getaway that went beyond what we expected. We can’t wait to return to this magical city and hotel. Highly recommend!

We spent a week here and loved the community right on the doorstep. Our room had an amazing canal view, classic decor, and everything we could ask for. Antonio was a great host from our first contact through to departure, and he gave us lots of helpful suggestions for places to visit. It’s a great base for seeing Venice, with so much nearby. We’ll be back next year and are 100% staying here again. Thanks for an amazing experience!

The room was lovely, and the stay felt relaxing. There’s a cafe and bakery right outside for a morning coffee and pastry, plus a couple of restaurants nearby and a co-op supermarket around the corner. Antonio was extremely helpful and got my Birthday celebrations off to a stylish start 🚤🥂
