Friendly Venice Suites

The location and charming atmosphere were great, but Giacomo was what made the stay memorable. From our arrival, he took such thoughtful care of every little detail and made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. We felt genuinely looked after the whole time. That mix of warm hospitality and professionalism is rare, and we’re so glad we chose this place.

Friendly Venice Suites is right in the heart of Venice, which is its one positive. Giacomo was aggressive and disrespectful to me and my mother when we arrived late at 11:30 PM because of a delayed train. He yelled at us, demanded to know where we’d been, and made us feel unsafe. He wouldn’t let us check in without taking our passports. I said he could photograph them but not keep them, and we argued about it for over 15 minutes. It was stressful and humiliating. He said check-in was only allowed until 10 PM, though the property is listed as a hotel and the platform we booked through didn’t clearly state a strict cutoff. He acted as if we were a burden and said he was “doing us a favor” by letting us in. After seeing our American passports, he made a racially insensitive comment. I had to ask him to leave our room because his behavior was so hostile and unprofessional. This isn’t a traditional hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting basic respect, kindness, or flexibility.

I’ve stayed here four times now, in different suites, and they’ve all been spacious and amazing. The location is perfect, close to almost everything. Moro Venice next door has the best pastries for breakfast. Don’t hesitate to book and visit. I’ll definitely be back! ☺️🤍

Giacomo was wonderful and attentive. We had coffee, fruit, cookies, and chocolates, and while there’s no restaurant in the hotel, there are amazing places to eat outside. The location is amazing too. I’ve been to Venice many times, and this simple, cozy stay felt especially memorable.
