Good Wine Apartments

The host met us in person to welcome us and shared tons of suggestions for places to eat and visit. We cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, which even had coffee, tea, olive oil, sugar, and some spices. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and the apartment was impeccably clean, airy, full of light, and absolutely quiet. Air conditioning worked well in both the bedroom and living room, essential in August. WONDERFUL, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The location was central, close to the vaporetto (airport!), and surprisingly quiet. Communication was good and replies came quickly. The rest was disappointing. These "brand new apartments" felt quite dated: the shower cubicle was tiny and rusty, the hose sprayed water out from the side instead of the top, the curtains were torn and hanging off their bars, and the entrance carpet was visibly worn from foot traffic. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and we could have done without the previous guest’s soap in the shower. The furnishings felt thoughtless too, with no bathroom shelves and a coffee table sitting uselessly in the kitchen corner. Even a money-printing machine needs looking after. Max. 3 stars. Since I’m still waiting for a receipt so I can set the trip off against tax, I’m taking off another point.

The beds were so comfortable, and we’d definitely stay here again. The apartment is in a fabulous, open part of Venice, near a small canal and the main areas. We’ve stayed in Venice before, and this was a lovely change from the dark street where we were last time. We were late because of the train, but the host waited for us, which was very kind and much appreciated. It was reassuring to know my daughter had a direct contact if she needed anything. There’s a Coop nearby, lovely food around, and an amazing Steakhouse! There’s no washing machine. That wasn’t advertised, so it’s not really a con, and I should have thought of it since we were on a long trip.

We had a lovely few days in Venice and were very pleased with the apartment. It worked perfectly for the three of us, two adults and a 7-year-old child. The area is calm and quiet, yet close to the most popular attractions. The apartment had everything we needed, and there’s a nice supermarket just a five-minute walk away. I’d definitely recommend it.
