Haven Hostel San Toma

The rooms are all private and reasonably priced. For Venice, that’s a good deal, since cheap hostels in the city are hard to find. The location is great, and the staff and reception are good. The Wi-Fi is really horrible. There’s no air conditioning, which is common in Venice, but fans kept us cool at night. It’s more like a budget hotel than a hostel, with no dorms and limited shared space. I’d still recommend it.

I liked this hostel. My private room was large and well furnished, and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. It also felt very secure, with a locked door to the room and another locked door before that, leading to two rooms and the shared bathroom. The heat was unbearable, though. There was a plug-in fan, which helped, but the place really needed air conditioning.

More like a hotel than a hostel, but a nice place. The room was very clean, the bed was good, and you can walk anywhere from this perfect location. The vending machines had fair prices. I’d say it’s the best value for money in Venice.

Very clean, with really nice and helpful staff, and a strategic location near the main vaporetto lines. Check-in is available 24/7, which is handy if you’re traveling at unusual hours. The place is quite basic, and the design could be more modern and functional, but I’d definitely recommend it as a good budget option.
