Hotel Al Sotoportego

Tiziano made our visit with my parents feel especially memorable. He was warm and genuinely attentive, and his enthusiasm for Venice came through in all the local suggestions he shared. His help with planning our days gave the trip an authentic feel, and we’re very grateful for his hospitality. Hotel al Sotoportego is intimate and charming, with lovely rooms overlooking the canal. It’s also well placed for exploring the city. We wouldn’t have had the same experience without Tiziano’s guidance.

Being right beside the canal made our stay feel idyllic, and the location was just right for Venice. Our room was comfortable and full of charm. Tiziano was such a warm, passionate host, and that added to the magic of the visit.

The personal, homey feel is what made this stay stand out. We were there for a romantic Valentine’s getaway, and the rose petals on the bed were a sweet touch. Everything was spotless and beautifully looked after, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We couldn’t find fault, and the stay surpassed what we expected from the star rating. Tiziano welcomed us right away and took time to explain what to see and do. He answered all our questions with real enthusiasm and local knowledge. The hotel was easy to reach by Orange or Blue line boat, and plenty of good places were within walking distance.

The room was on the small side, though that seems expected in Venice. The location, just off the main walking route, was great, and our host was the friendliest we’ve met so far.
