Hotel Henry

I’d strongly advise against booking here. Hotel Henry cancelled my confirmed reservation about a month before my Venice trip, without giving me a reason. I got my money back through the partner company, but had to scramble for somewhere else at the last minute, and the options were more expensive by then. I’d booked through booking.com after seeing a special discount offered with an outside partner. I’d checked reviews first and found a mix, nothing especially good or bad. The booking and payment were confirmed, so I thought everything was settled. If you see one of those discounted offers through an external partner, be careful. I can’t say why they cancelled mine, but I worry they might choose which reservations to keep when they can sell a room at the regular price. Read the reviews closely. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

A handy spot for a short stay, especially if you’re arriving by train or need the airport bus. The station and bus stop are both very close. The rooms are on the small side, but clean and comfortable.

The check-in took a bit of figuring out: the entrance was locked and nobody was at the reception desk. Once we worked it out, though, the stay went smoothly. The room was charming and clean, everything worked as it should, and there were extra pillows and blankets ready for us. The price felt fair for what we got, and the short walk to the train station made getting around easy. We had a great stay and would consider coming back.

My September holiday was spoiled by the lack of hot water. I couldn’t shower even though it was extremely warm, and when I tried to contact the property, nobody replied. The next morning the receptionist already knew there was no hot water. I wouldn’t book here.
