Hotel Roma

I just got here, and they put me in a first-floor room because I'm only staying two nights. The desk clerk didn't try to help, he was watching TV and seemed more focused on that. The room is very dark, even in the early afternoon you need the lights on. The shower was okay. Thanks for listening, I'll update later.

It's a simple, typically Italian-style place, not modern or glamorous, but it's quiet and very clean, with everything working and a friendly, helpful reception. Really, it has all you need. Historic Venice is just a ten-minute bus ride away.

From here, bus line 6 goes directly to Venice, and the bus station is fairly close. The hotel sits in the town center with good local connections. The private parking lot is spacious, but its entrance is on a one-way street, so if you approach from the other direction you'll need to circle the whole block. Rooms are functional despite their old-fashioned style, though the beds are a bit hard if you prefer a soft mattress. The blinds can make the room completely dark, which is useful if early sun wakes you, and the windows block outside noise well. Noise carries between floors in this old building, so I'd choose a top-floor room. There's an elevator, so stairs aren't a concern. My main gripe is the TVs, which are tiny, like tablets mounted on the wall. Free Netflix or something similar would be nice too, since only Italian channels are available, and dubbed movies and series aren't much use if you don't understand Italian. Still, I'd recommend the hotel for either Mestre or Venice.

I booked the hotel for September 24-26, but I've asked Booking to cancel the reservation and refund me. I had a problem with my credit card and need to get the full amount back from the bank, so I can't travel to Italy. If possible, please reconsider and grant me a refund.
