The stairs were a challenge, though the host kindly carried one of my suitcases up four flights. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and noise wasn’t a problem. The windows looked straight onto another building, so there wasn’t much daylight. Since the hotel host isn’t on site, directions, check-in, and communication could have been better. There was a strike, so we had to get off at a different boat stop than Google indicated and walk 20 minutes instead of 5. It would have helped to know that in advance and get instructions, since we were figuring it out after getting off the train. The staff were helpful, the place is nice enough, well located, and not too expensive. Reviews seem to get most things right. Given how easily these things could have gone badly, 4 out of 5 feels fair. It was fine, but not quite a 5-star stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was very well maintained. The location is one of the best, close to everything.

Good value, with excellent service at reception and a very convenient, quiet location. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathroom is small but works well. In summer the air conditioning isn’t very effective. The toilet was clean, though used dishes weren’t cleared away.

This accommodation in the heart of Venice went beyond what I expected. I’d happily return and highly recommend it.
