I Gioielli del Doge - Topazio

Loved the location, and the place was clean.

The location is good, and the kitchen is equipped. The food is what you’d expect from cheaper accommodation. Unfortunately, the bathroom and its fittings need maintenance: the shower head and holder are damaged, the bathroom fan doesn’t work, and the short shower curtain leaves water all over most of the floor. There’s also white mold on the bedroom beam, among other issues.

It’s small, but has all the comforts you need for a week in Venice. There are convenient places nearby, from a bar to a supermarket, and delicious cicchetti in San Toma' just steps away. Two Venetian treasures are close by, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with Tintoretto's masterpieces and the Basilica dei Frari museum church. It’s also near the Rialto Bridge and next to Goldoni's House.

We’d stay here again. It’s small but lovely, and right by the San Tomà stop. A supermarket is only 20 meters away. The air conditioning is quiet, the shower is large, and the kitchen has everything you need, including a fridge and freezer. Open the window and you can see the gondola passing below. Stefania, who handed us the keys, was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend it.
