La Villeggiatura

Barbara and Sunil were warm and welcoming, and their communication and local tips were great. We had a lovely week here. The room was clean, comfortable, and luxurious, with charming decorative details all around. Its central location made it an easy base for getting everywhere. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice.

Barbara and Sunil’s hospitality was the highlight for us. Barbara shared her favorite local restaurants and advice for making the most of a few days in the city. We stayed in room 6, which was comfortable for two, and the place is centrally located near Rialto and the Vaporetto. Just be aware it’s up three flights of stairs, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. I’d definitely come back and recommend it.

The location works well for water buses and taxis, and the hotel felt secure. Our room had space for a family of three. Still, it felt overrated online and didn’t seem worth the price. There are three or four floors of stairs, which is hard with luggage, and the old furniture felt like it might break if you touched it. The air conditioning wasn’t enough in summer, so an extra fan was needed. Breakfast was a letdown, just bread, cheese, and fruit, with nothing cooked or warm. The lead staff member offered a lot of unsolicited advice and suggestions; to me, the one-way conversations came across as sarcastic and over the top. Overall, it was okay, but not what the ratings led me to expect.

We were just a three-minute walk from Rialto Bridge, and the host was warm and helpful. The rooms are especially spacious for Venice, and breakfast was very nice. My one complaint was the bed and pillows, which weren’t comfortable and could be improved.
