Little Gem

The apartment was spacious and clean, right on a canal, and the view from our balcony was a beautiful way to finish our trip in Italy. We’d happily stay at Little Gem again. Google Maps seemed to struggle with the address, but searching for “Little Gem” brought us to the right place. Navigation helped, since the streets twist around and some look like paths between buildings. The location made it easy to reach what we needed, which matters when you’re walking everywhere. Our host had years of hotel experience and speaks five languages. He was so kind and courteous that he even met us at the people mover to guide us over. He marked places to visit on a map and pointed out areas to avoid if we wanted to skip touristy, pricier food. We tried the restaurant next door first and went back for our last meal in Venice. There’s a full kitchen in the apartment, though we only used the refrigerator to keep water cold because we wanted to eat out around Venice.

Pietro was really helpful and shared useful tips for exploring venice. The apartment sleeps four comfortably, with two single beds and a sofa bed. The kitchen had what we needed, even coffee, and there was a good washing machine. Nice bathroom too, with towels provided.

Great spot for an apartment, and Pietro was a wonderful host.
