Locanda Casa Querini

Katerina helped us find a ticket for a concert featuring music by Antonio Vivaldi, and was a very helpful, friendly host with useful information. The room was clean, warm, and quiet, and the location was very good. Big thanks to Casa Querini.

We felt safe coming back after dark, and had no trouble finding this small hotel on a quiet square, which can be saying something in Venice 🤣. It's close to St. Marks Square and the San Zaccaria Vaporetta stop, making it easy to get around. The family running the place were friendly and helpful. We first contacted them after seeing a recommendation from Rick Steves, and they promptly sent all the details we needed, including excellent directions from the Vaporetta stop. We'd happily stay again.

Caterina helped arrange a special dinner for my daughter's 20th birthday and a gondola ride with musicians. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. Our room was very nice, and the included breakfast was very good too. The hotel sits on a quiet "campo" a short walk from St. Mark's, with restaurants and gelato nearby. The docks for vaporettos, gondolas, and other water transport are about four minutes away on foot. They also work with Alvise, an excellent tour guide whose services I highly recommend.

I'd suggest emailing the Locanda directly for a reservation, since the rates are much better. I stayed in the peony room, part of the flower-named rooms that share a theme, and would happily return. The little albergo is on a very quiet “campo” across the square from an ancient church, with a lovely atmosphere. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms newly updated, and there's air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The Administrator/Concierge was wonderful and so helpful.
