We really enjoyed the hospitality and service during our stay from October 3 - 5. It’s in a very quiet part of Venice beside a canal, but close to restaurants and squares. St. Marks is only 12 minutes away.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and so was dinner. The room was fairly large for the price, and the air conditioning was great. It’s well located. I’d definitely come back.

We both got sick the next morning, and they didn’t comp the meal. I’m convinced the high-star reviews are an inside job. Where do I start, the stale bread? Or the lobster pasta, which had maybe two and a half bites of lobster and something with a mashed potato texture? The few bites I tried tasted suspicious enough that I stopped eating because I was afraid of spending the rest of my honeymoon sick. When they asked how we liked the meal, we were honest, and they told us we were wrong, that this is what lobster is like, and that the girl next to us liked it. Then the manager came over and was really nice and helpful. He said he’d spoken to the chef, and they’d received the lobster a day ago but hadn’t cooked it properly. Okay, but where was the lobster in question? It wasn’t on my plate. The waiter said, “well that was a kitchen error the service was still fine right?” They kept offering to make it right, but we just wanted to leave. After asking for the check several times, it started to feel like an awkward hostage situation. So I guess you’re welcome for eating the trash lobster you bought yesterday, so you could pawn it off instead of throwing it in the trash where it belongs.

The room was spacious, but the carpets were dirty and there were ants. The showers and bathrooms are very small, so using them may be inconvenient if you have a larger body. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is the best part. It’s fairly close to the main sights and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, yet it’s far enough from the crowds and noise.
