Lux Hotel

The hotel put us in another building. That wasn't a problem by itself, since the room there had been renovated, but neither the hot water nor the heating worked. Having to take a cold shower in winter made for a really bad stay. The good thing is the location, just two blocks from Piazza San Marco.

The location was great and Venice itself is lovely, but checking out was the best part of our stay. When we arrived, a staff member kept watching a video on his phone. The rooms were dark, dirty, and worn out, with rock-hard beds that felt like sleeping in a shed. Breakfast was meagre in a tiny room with only six tables, and the staff were rude and rigid about it. There are plenty of much better hotels to choose from.

The room was dirty, and the unlit stairs felt unsafe. The hotel showed one room online, then sent us to a different building with a completely different one. The location was the only positive. Overall, a disappointing stay.

My sister and I spent one night at the Lux. The bathroom was spacious and had a hair dryer, and the room was comfortable enough. We also had air conditioning and a mini fridge, which was handy for keeping our water bottles cool. Breakfast was plentiful.
