Oceano Mare

Nicola, the owner, was amazing. He made us feel at home, shared lots of tips, and helped us with many things. The B&B was comfortable and lovely, in a quiet, safe area close to San Marco Square and two vaporetto stops. Our room was cleaned every day. I’d definitely come back. Thank you, Nicola and the team.

Nicola made the stay especially nice. He explained the area when we arrived, was always glad to help, and put out cake, coffee, toast and other breakfast things each morning, keeping them stocked. He also has great stories about southern Italy and his grandfather, who once owned the B&B, and plays in a jazz band, so ask whether he has a gig while you’re there. The rooms are roomy, have ensuite bathrooms and were cleaned daily. Downstairs there are breakfast tables and a small kitchenette. Oceano Mare is quiet and tucked away from the tourist bustle near St.Marco, but only a short walk from the Arsenale and close to the Biennale. A lovely little place and great value. We couldn’t have asked for more.

The room was cleaned perfectly, and the neighborhood was very peaceful. You can walk to the center without much trouble. The owner, Nikolas, was kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has a fascinating history too. I’d gladly choose it again when I return to Venice, and recommend it to anyone.
