Breakfast with a view over the Grand Canal was one of the moments I’ll remember: the light on the water and the calm, elegant atmosphere. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making us feel like guests in a private noble residence. They handled every detail with care. The location is central yet peaceful, just steps from St. Mark’s Square, and waking up to the canal was unforgettable. Each room has its own story and character, giving a real sense of the building’s history. Arriving by boat at the private Grand Canal entrance brought us straight into historic Venice. Palazzetto Pisani Grand Canal is a breathtaking palace, with frescoed ceilings, original architectural details, antique furniture, and grand staircases, all kept in lovely condition while still feeling comfortable and elegant. For a romantic, authentic Venetian stay steeped in history and charm, Palazzetto Pisani Grand Canal is a truly extraordinary choice, a hidden jewel on the canal.

Please make sure you have travel insurance if you stay here. We had to cancel because of a death in the family, and the hotel wouldn’t let us reschedule. I understand they aren’t legally required to, though many hotels take a more compassionate approach. I also appreciate that rooms can be hard to fill in low season, but before our stay they’d emailed to say parts of the hotel would be unavailable because they were hosting a large party, so we assume they weren’t especially quiet then. Reception staff were kind individually and said they’d considered giving us a voucher, but management decided against it.

The location was the biggest benefit: the hotel is on a quiet street that ends at the property, but restaurants and shops are only a minute away. The price was significant and service very good, with helpful staff, though this is a somewhat “rustic” luxury experience. The hotel occupies two buildings. The main one, with reception and restaurants, is a quirky gem that feels like a palace; we stayed in the less ornate building next door. Our two rooms were comfortable, but had no water views. The shared spaces do look onto the Grand Canal. There are lots of stairs and no elevator. Staff carried our bags, but our attic room was still 3.5 flights up steep stairs. We arrived by water taxi from the airport, which pulled up right at a reception door, so we didn’t have to haul bags over Venice’s bridges. Staff arranged our departure taxi and even switched to a boat/car option when the weather made boats outside the canals impossible. Breakfast cost €18 and was a fairly standard European spread.

My booking was confirmed after I reserved and paid a month ahead, but the hotel cancelled it for overbooking just TWO DAYS before I was due to arrive. Apparently, a confirmed reservation here means nothing. Be careful.
