Palazzina Veneziana

We stayed in the heart of Venice’s Cannaregio district, with lots of lovely shopping and great cafes and restaurants nearby. Rialto bridge is a 15 min walk away, and the Duomo/ St Marks Square is about 20 mins. We loved everything about the hotel. Rosalee welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of delicious Prosecco after our sleepless overnight flight from the US. Later, when my husband lost his wallet, Samantha at Gia Hotels sprang into action. The hotel was notified, and Rosalee and Gia helped us get it back. A traveler from Bangladesh had found it and handed it to the police. Every item, including the cash, was still there. The goodness of strangers! God bless everyone who helped reunite us with the wallet. It makes you feel great about Gia Hotels, Rosales, and humanity. Go enjoy Venice at this hotel!

The terrace and its view were unforgettable, and the place itself is enchanting. The location is great, and the interior gives you a feel for life in Renaissance Venice. But the stay wouldn’t have been the same without Mrs.Rozalia, who is caring, kind, sophisticated, and a true lady. Highly commendable and recommended. ❤️

The worst part happened at checkout. Though checkout was at 11:00 AM, when I returned to my room around 11:30 AM, a staff member had gone in without permission, moved my luggage and stripped the bed, then spoke to me in a hostile manner. As a woman traveling alone, I felt deeply uncomfortable and disrespected. There’s no justification for entering a guest’s room without consent, handling their belongings, and treating them with hostility. It left me feeling unsafe, unwelcome, and very distressed. I’ve traveled extensively and never experienced such unprofessional behavior from hotel staff. I can’t recommend this property under any circumstances. There’s no elevator, which is extremely inconvenient with luggage. Carrying heavy bags up and down the stairs was difficult and felt unsafe.

The room was adorable, with a charming European feel, and opening the window gave us a view of the canal and gondolas passing by. It felt like a fairytale. The drinks in the fridge were included in the price and replenished daily, and the sweet woman who cleaned our room was lovely. It was a perfect location, close to the station and just a 2-minute walk from the boat to the airport. Check-in felt a bit like an Airbnb, which some people may not like, and there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your suitcase up the stairs. I’d definitely stay again!
