Palazzo Barocci

We had a spacious, clean, nicely kept room and a warm welcome at Palazzo Barocci. The location between Rialto Bridge and Accademia Bridge is ideal, with the vaporetto stop just below the hotel. We also had a beautiful view over the Grand Canal. One small thing fell short of what I'd expect from a hotel positioning itself as a “Palace”. Before dinner, I asked the front desk to put ice in the Champagne bucket in our room for when we got back. They said it would be better for me to come down and get it myself, otherwise room service would charge 5 €. Apart from that, a very pleasant stay. Thank you.

The rooms were really clean, and the staff were warm and helpful. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of cooked and continental choices, local dishes, and coffee made to order. The location is fantastic too. I’ve already told a friend to stay here.

I enjoyed our stay overall. The hotel is right by a waterbus stop and close to the main sights, which made getting around easy. Breakfast was good, the restaurant team gave excellent service, and reception were kind and helpful. The room was damp, though, and the bed was uncomfortable. Even a small movement on one side made the other person feel it, like being on an air mattress. Housekeeping had missed a hair in the bath and a contact lens on the bedside table when we checked in, so they weren’t ours. That’s why I took off a star.

We’d happily come back here on our next visit to Venice. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. While we waited for the room, they offered us espresso and water. It was ready an hour early, and they also left us a bottle and a small platter of berries and cookies at no extra charge. It made us feel like valued guests. The hotel is easy to reach, right across from the San Angelo stop where the taxi boat drops you off. This was our favorite hotel during our week in Italy.
