Palazzo La Scala

The welcoming staff were incredibly kind and made our stay memorable. Our room was comfortable, clean, a regular size for Venice, and had a slightly larger bathroom too. The location worked well for the “boat taxi” and the important monuments we wanted to see. We had a lovely stay and will definitely book here again when we return to Venice.

The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly, and the hotel was clean. The location is excellent, and the rooms have some charm, though, as other reviews mention, they’re small and could use updating. There’s no coffee in the room or hotel. If you’re on a budget, count the cost of your first cup, plus a 6-7 minute walk to get it if you’re up early.

The rooms are pretty decent, and the location is about as central as you can get. Just be aware the map pin doesn’t mark the hotel’s exact spot. I recommend it.

For a short city break, the central spot is ideal for sightseeing, and I enjoyed my stay. I booked a single for two nights to be near Rialto, but La Scala is in a separate building from hotel La Bella Venezia, where the main reception desk is. The warm zipped bedded double room at La Scala was compact and elegant, with good facilities, a fridge, toiletries, and air conditioning. It was a bit scuffed but spotless. The description of the hotel annex is accurate, and the staff are professional. Reception can be called directly. It’s fair value for a room only, though I could find better options. In season, the location will be noisy, so earplugs are advisable at night.
