Hotel Regit

I booked this hotel because I needed somewhere near the train station after my flight, which landed at 00:40. I only wanted a place to sleep before a short visit to Venice, then continue to Turin. I told the hotel our arrival time before the plane took off, and received a written reply confirming they were expecting us. It was an international flight of about four hours, and that exchange is documented. But when we arrived, the hotel was closed and no one helped or responded. I confirm that we did come to the hotel. After passport control and the other arrival procedures, there were no buses available and no taxis outside the airport. We tried calling and messaging the hotel, but got no answer to calls or emails. We reached the hotel at around 3:00 a.m. and found the door shut. We rang the bell for over 40 minutes and called repeatedly, without a response. We were outside for about two hours, desperately trying to reach someone in –6°C. It was unsafe and extremely stressful, with no assistance. The hotel can check its CCTV/video surveillance to confirm what happened. If the hotel claims to be open 24/7, that isn't true. They should check how the night staff are actually working, because we couldn't get in. Unbelievable and unacceptable. I extremely do not recommend it.

We paid in advance and could choose a double or twin bed, but on arrival Hotel Regit demanded another €20 for the room we had already selected. That's nothing but a scam. We also asked for an iron, a basic facility in almost every European hotel, and were rudely told it wasn't available for “security reasons.” Even after we bought one ourselves, they wouldn't let us use it in the room. Service was absolutely zero and there were no facilities. We booked based on positive reviews on Google and Booking.com, but the reality was the complete opposite. Hotel Regit is a hotel in name only. Strongly not recommended, save your money and stay somewhere else.

The room was clean and comfy, with easy access to venezia mestre train station and the airport at marco polo.

The staff were the best part of our stay. Both the clerks and the waiter in the bar were very nice. The hotel is conveniently located, 100 m from the train and bus stations, and the room was a good size. Breakfast was OK. There's also a place to park bikes and cars 50 m away, with bike parking costing €4 per day.
