Relais Venezia

The room meant climbing quite a few stairs, but it wasn’t an issue for us, and there are other rooms reachable by elevator. The hotel is in a quiet spot, just seconds from Venice’s busy streets. Staff were fantastic and happy to help with anything. Breakfast was a perfect way to start a day of exploring.

A family emergency meant my friend had to cancel our reservation two days before the trip. We understand there’s a policy, but the response felt very strict, with no empathy and only a 50% voucher that would mean spending even more money with them. Since it was midsummer during a film festival, I’d have thought the room could be used again. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location is only a few minutes from the main attractions, though keep in mind there are no elevators. I can’t remember the front desk gentlemen’s names, but they were amazing: warm, personable and in no rush as they explained the hotel and suggested restaurants away from the tourist traps. I was even given a bottle of bellini as a belated birthday gift. I’d recommend this hotel!

Leonardo & Frederico were incredibly welcoming and helped us quickly get used to the city’s unique pace of life. We stayed in a gold superior room overlooking the rooftops, and it was comfortable and very clean. The boutique hotel has a charming entrance off a small street, with a nice restaurant, Da Bubi, just around the corner. Its location made it easy to visit Piazza San Marco early and late, when crowds were thin. A great choice!
