The rooms and building were spotless, and my kids, aged 10 and 12, loved the big selection of books, games, and puzzles. The team at Ca F’oscolo made everything easy, including clear instructions for getting in after reception closed at 2pm. They were friendly and communication was seamless. We were there as a family of four, and the layout worked really well. There was space to relax away from the crowds, comfortable beds in separate rooms, and even the kids’ sofa bed felt like a proper bed, easy to set up and very comfortable. It was quiet at night with no street noise, despite the occasional echo inside the building. Rialto was about a three-minute walk and San Marco around five. My husband and I both said we wouldn’t look elsewhere when we return to Venice.

I loved the apartment, and the location was great. Having a whole apartment worked perfectly for me. Still, there were some frustrating parts, and it cost a lot for what came with them. I booked through Chase Travel and was told check-in started at 2:00. When I arrived early to ask about leaving my bags, I was immediately scolded because staff said they’d been trying to reach me to coordinate entry before they left for the day at 2:00. I had no idea this was happening, and since I hadn’t booked directly, I didn’t realize I might miss check-in. Later, I was scolded again for booking a room for four when I was staying alone. I couldn’t see why that mattered if I’d paid the booking fee. Since it’s basically an Airbnb and not a staffed property, I had to deal with screaming kids in the shared landing room myself. The kitchen sink also gurgled loudly enough that sitting on the couch was hard. I eventually stuffed towels in the sink overnight because I couldn’t sleep, and that worked. There are good things about staying here, but don’t expect regular hotel service, and check-in times and arrangements may be confusing.

We stayed three nights in Venice at the end of our Mediterranean cruise, and Ca’ Foscolo was a real gem. Our family of four had plenty of room, and the kitchenette made it easy to pick up local produce and keep snacks on hand. Communication was fantastic, and everything had been organized incredibly well. The building is roughly 500 years old, with a beautiful historic interior and modern comforts. It’s just a few minutes from Ponte de Rialto, a central point for water taxis and getting around. We mostly walked as we explored Venice. We’d definitely stay again.

The staff really stood out. Their friendly tips on food and sightseeing made the trip easier and more enjoyable, and we’ll certainly be back. The apartments were spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and full of character, with everything needed to feel like a small home. The historic building was romantic and quiet, yet close to everything. St. Mark's Square was about a 10-minute walk, and Rialto Bridge was nearby too.

Having a separate living area from the bedrooms was especially helpful with our toddler, and they provided far more snacks and breakfast food than we needed. The water taxi was able to drop us right at the door, and Piazza San Marco was an easy walk away. We loved staying at Ca' Fascolo. My only gripe was that reception closes at 2pm. Even arriving at 3pm means you’re after hours, so we couldn’t ask staff for recommendations until the next morning.
