The location was reasonably good, but the apartment needs some attention to make it more pleasant. Dampness was bad, even though I know Venice can be damp, and I've stayed in other places there. The sofa bed shown in the photo was broken. The contact kept saying it would be replaced, but it still wasn't after our four-night stay. This was the worst of the eight places we stayed in Italy, and it wasn't quite as described.

Getting into the room was a struggle because the keys didn't work, and we had to search for them three times before we could open it. The place is up three flights of stairs, with no easy access, so don't bring luggage. I was made to pay the local taxes in cash, but they never gave me a receipt, even after I asked at least five times. A disaster. Don't go here.

Venice is a beautiful city that deserves protection. Our loft was right in the center, just a few minutes on foot from the Rialto Bridge. Even with the boat tourists around, it was still peaceful to enjoy the city in the evening or early morning. We were on the bridge around 9-10 a.m. and had it to ourselves.
