The cappuccino at breakfast was the best we had across all the hotels we stayed in Italy. Breakfast was served buffet-style in a beautiful dining room, and our room was spacious and well furnished. The elegant accommodation is in a historic palazzo, within walking distance of both the castle and the Roman archaeological site. Parking is right in front of the building. The staff know a great deal about the building’s history and where the art in its many corners comes from, and they helped shed light on it during our visit. Hotel Orazio is incredibly beautiful and full of charm. It served as the seat of the Order of Malta for many years, and its architecture and finishes look to me to date from the Templar/Cypriot style. This place holds so much history that it ought to be a cultural center or museum for new generations, and that past should be preserved. We chose it for its position in the historic center of Venosa, the city of the great Roman poet, while passing through this beautiful historic town. The welcome and availability were phenomenal. I’m adding a few photos from the visit, but I’d suggest seeing it in person. We’ll certainly return on our next trip through Venosa to learn more about this wonderful work. 👌🏽🔝🔝

Breakfast was generous and elegant, and the staff were extremely kind. The rooms were quiet, spotless, and full of art. It’s a very welcoming hotel in a great location. Highly recommended!
